Principles of Design - Digital Media
This unit was created to combine Art and Technology. I specifically focused on combining Art 20 along with the ICT Division 4 both from the Alberta Curriculum.
I have not had the exciting endeavour of teaching this unit yet, but I look forward to being able to do so in the future. Feel free to add it to your resources and manipulate it however you see fit.

Sculpture
This unit follows the Alberta Education curriculum for Art 7 & 8 but I ended up using it for the High School Art classes as it turned out to be a better fit. I adjusted it to work for the Art 7 & 8's by adding more art fundamental activities and a variety of explorations.
I created this unit plan to kick off my second practicum placement. Hoping to provide students with an outlet for expression while engaging their interests and teaching sculpture foundations, I jumped right into it! After having taught it, I believe the students were both engaged and challenged. They were encouraged to explore a variety of materials while being introduced to different artists and concepts.
Materials for this unit are located in a zipped file at this link: Sculpture Unit
Below are examples of some amazing art student pieces!

Visual Literacy
This unit follows the Alberta Education curriculum for Art 10, it can definitely be altered to reach different curriculum and learning levels.
Being a graphic and web designer for many years, I have a passion for visual literacy. Although typography is not included in this unit plan, I would definitely integrate typography and/or graffiti into the lessons and projects for higher levels of learning, differentiation or if you have more time to go through the unit! Typographer, Ed Fella and Graffiti Artist, Bansky are great artists to look at if you want to expand the unit.
